Overview

Performs lab support tasks, supplements the existing lab team, configures/reconfigures test bays (hardware and software) to support testing activity. Performs tasks to maintain and support daily lab operations for Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) Integration and Test (I&T) engineers. Success in this position requires an assertive, professional, and confident attitude.

Responsibilities

  1. Performs installation of initial subsystem hardware for each Technical Insertion (TI)
  2. Maintains previously installed subsystem hardware
  3. Performs software install and updates for subsystems in support of integration and test events in the lab
  • External Interface Tests
  • System Level Testing (SLT)
  • System Operability (SOP) tests

     4. Performs system hardware related tasks including:

  • Hardware handling (receipt, shipment, and tracking of shipsets)
  • Hardware ordering (research possible hardware solutions). Information would be reviewed by lead and provided to purchasing.

Qualifications

The following skills are required:

  1. Ability to perform hardware installation and checkout.
  2. Ability to follow direction from SWFTS I&T leads
  3. Ability to perform as a self-starter and work with minimal supervision and oversight.

 

The following skills are highly desirable:

  1. Former military experience with Submarine Combat Systems (SONAR, BYG-1, IMAGING, etc.)

Additional Requirements:

  1. High School level or college degree in related discipline, military experience, or equivalent job related experience and two year’s professional experience.
  2. Candidate must be U.S. citizen able to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
  3. Willingness to work overtime and off shift when dictated to support business needs.

Contract Term: Full-time Employee, 40 hours/week.

Rate:  Negotiable
