Overview

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems for testing and production. Performs analysis and testing on complex designs to meet varying requirements and conditions. Success in this position requires an assertive, confident attitude and a commitment to working as a part of a team to meet critical delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

 

  1. Designs and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products.
  2. Conducts stress, structural/dynamic, and thermal design testing and analysis relating to packaging of electronic/COTS equipment in multiple military platforms.
  3. Supports the preparation, planning, setup, and execution of Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) (shock and vibration, temperature, humidity, and altitude testing).
  4. Supports the preparation, planning, setup, and execution of Engineering Development Model (EDM) build, qualification, and production.
  5. Candidate must be U.S. citizen able to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance.

 

Qualifications

 Required Skills for Mechanical Engineer Associate:

  1. Experience with 3D CAD modeling.
  2. Experience performing engineering testing in laboratory environment.
  3. Strong communication skills to explain design issues and solutions.

Highly Desired Skills for Mechanical Engineer Associate:

1.  Experience with Creo (ProEngineer).

2.  Experience with 3D Finite Element Analysis.

3.  Experience with 3D Printing

Additional Requirements for Mechanical Engineer Associate:

  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline and one to five years 'professional experience.
  2. Proactive/self-starter. Task driven with ability to work independently.
  3. Team player that takes ownership and develops relationships with team members which fosters team success.
